Our very first worship service in our newly-constructed church building will be on Christmas Eve this year (2018) at 7:00 PM. The service will feature Scripture lessons, carols, a sermon from Matthew 2:1-12, and special music, and will last for about an hour and fifteen minutes or so. This will be our first worship service ever in the church building that we have been working on for the past year and a half and planning for for a longer period of time stretching back to around 2006. Our church is located at 111 Fowler Place in the village of Odessa.
Some of the work was done by a construction company from Dundee, NY, and by other contractors. Much of the interior work has been done by church volunteers. Volunteers from the church have donated hundreds of hours to this project, working under the direction of our Project Manager, David Sidle II. Volunteers did carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, concrete work, pipe installation, cleaning, and many other tasks large and small for the past 11 months or so.
After tonight's service, church members will be on hand to give brief tours and to explain features of the building to visitors. (Please understand that though the sanctuary is suitable for a worship service this evening, the building is not yet fully finished.) We will not be worshiping in the building on a regular basis for several weeks, because we need to finish some projects. But we are prepared to host tonight's service as a special worship event.
If you can car pool to the church for tonight's service, that would be appreciated since parking near the building is somewhat limited.
